What's new in PowerClick

Right-click any photo, video, audio file, document, Markdown file or PDF and turn it into another format. HEIC to JPEG, MOV to MP4, video to GIF, DOCX to PDF, Markdown to HTML, PDF to images, image to app icon and many more. The original is never touched, and only formats your Mac can actually write are offered.

Compress for sharing shrinks videos, photos and PDFs to fit Discord (10 MB), email (25 MB), or to half their size. PowerClick works out the bitrate and resolution for you.

Scan the QR code on your screen with a shortcut, read codes from images and PDFs in Finder, get warned about suspicious links, and create your own codes for links, text or Wi-Fi.

Select text in almost any app and choose Services, then Translate with PowerClick. Copy the result or replace the original. Uses Apple Translation on-device, macOS 15 or later.

Turn a recording or video into text or .srt subtitles, or copy the transcript straight to the clipboard. On-device, macOS 26 or later.

New File from Clipboard now names the file by its content: .json, .csv, .md, .html, .webloc and more.

Long jobs run in the background with progress and Cancel in the menu bar. Copy To and Move To no longer freeze the app.

Safer Undo: files go to the Trash, and anything you edited since is left alone.

Ten new languages: Polish, Czech, Ukrainian, Hungarian, Romanian, Greek, Swedish, Danish, Norwegian and Portuguese (Portugal). PowerClick now speaks 23 languages.

Many translation and stability fixes.

No new entitlements, and still no network access. The only new permission is Screen Recording, used by Scan QR on Screen and only once you grant it.

Settings then Appearance offers Light, Dark or Auto. Auto follows macOS, including the automatic switch at sunset. The choice reaches the dashboard, the menu bar popover, the ShortClick ring, the toast and the Services panel.

Clear or Tinted, matching the pair System Settings offers. On macOS 26 this uses the native Liquid Glass material rather than an imitation of it.

Nine choices: Multicolor, which follows your system accent, plus Blue, Purple, Pink, Red, Orange, Yellow, Green and Graphite.

Made genuinely readable rather than a dark theme with the switch flipped. Card materials, separators, captions and text on coloured fills were all reworked so contrast holds under both appearances.

Fixed four Finder extension menu labels that had no translation in any language, so they no longer fall back to raw keys.

Restored nineteen missing strings each in Spanish, French, Dutch and Portuguese. Localization coverage is now checked automatically on every release.

No new permissions and no new entitlements. Appearance is stored in PowerClick's own preferences and changes nothing outside the app.

A radial menu that opens under your cursor. The inner ring picks a category, the outer ring picks the item. Five categories: Apps, Snippets, Clipboard, Automation and Windows.

Open it with a keyboard shortcut you record yourself, or by holding Command and Shift and right-clicking. Both can be turned off independently.

Hold the trigger, throw the cursor toward the item you want and release. No second click.

Window snapping with twelve actions on the frontmost window: four halves, four quarters, maximize, center, move to the next display, and restore the previous position. Off until you enable it, and it uses the public Accessibility API.

Drag an app wedge outward for New Window, Bring to Front or Quit without leaving the ring.

When Finder is in front with files selected, the app wedges become "open the selection with this app" instead of plain launchers.

Optionally paste a snippet straight into the app you were typing in, instead of only copying it. Off by default.

Ring items that open a URL or run one of your own Shortcuts. Shortcut names are read from Shortcuts so you can pick from a list instead of typing one from memory.
