How PowerClick handles your data -- and why most of this page is very short.

Last updated: April 2025

The short version

PowerClick does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data. Everything the app does -- clipboard monitoring, snippet storage, file creation, activity logging -- happens entirely on your Mac. No data leaves your device.

What PowerClick stores

All data is stored locally on your device using standard macOS mechanisms:

  • Clipboard history -- stored in the shared App Group container on your Mac. Never transmitted anywhere.
  • Snippets -- stored in the shared App Group container. Local only.
  • Activity log -- stored in the shared App Group container. Local only.
  • Settings and preferences -- stored in UserDefaults on your Mac.

The App Group container (group.com.atakilicov.PoweRClick) is a sandboxed local directory shared between the main app and the Finder extension. It is not accessible to other apps and is never synced to any external service.

Clipboard access

PowerClick reads from the system clipboard (NSPasteboard) to build your clipboard history. It specifically avoids reading items marked as concealed -- such as passwords from 1Password or Keychain -- when the "Ignore Passwords" setting is enabled. Clipboard content is stored only on your device and is cleared when you clear your history.

Finder extension

The Finder Sync extension reads the current folder path and selected file paths when you right-click. This information is used only to build the context menu and perform the selected action (e.g., creating a file, copying a path). It is not logged or stored beyond the immediate operation.

Notifications

PowerClick can send local system notifications when a file is created, using UNUserNotificationCenter. These are standard macOS local notifications. No notification content is sent to any external server.

Analytics and crash reporting

PowerClick does not include any analytics SDKs, crash reporters, or telemetry of any kind. There is no tracking code in the app.

Third-party services

PowerClick does not integrate with any third-party services, APIs, or SDKs. The app does not make any network requests.

Data retention and deletion

You are in full control of all data stored by PowerClick. You can clear your clipboard history, delete individual snippets, or use the "Reset All Data" option in Settings to wipe everything. Uninstalling the app removes the app itself; to also remove stored data, delete the App Group container from your Mac or use "Reset All Data" before uninstalling.

Children

PowerClick does not knowingly collect information from anyone. The app has no user accounts, no sign-in, and no network connectivity.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a meaningful way, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new "Last updated" date. Given that PowerClick collects no data, significant changes to this policy are unlikely.
